Bio Carolyn Wincer
Carolyn Wincer is the Head of Travel & Tourism Development for Virgin Galactic, where she is responsible for sales worldwide and helping space tourism find its unique fit in the broader tourism industry. Since assuming the position in June 2006, she established and currently manages a global network of 150 travel agents (known as Accredited Space Agents) in 40 countries to help achieve these goals. In April 2010, she transferred from Virgin Galactic’s London offices to Las Cruces, N.M., near the company’s future headquarters at Spaceport America. Here, she collaborates with the local tourism industry to prepare them for the arrival of future Virgin Galactic astronauts.
Wincer has been part of the Virgin family for more than 12 years. In 2000, she joined Virgin Limited Edition in London as Sales and Reservations Manager. Here, she worked directly with Sir Richard Branson, managing his exclusive collection of luxury properties, including Necker Island, Ulusaba Game Reserve in South Africa and The Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco. She was also part of the opening team for Kasbah Tamadot.
