
Karin Nilsdotter is the CEO of Spaceport Sweden, which is a pioneering initiative to establish space tourism in Sweden and become a world leading spaceport and hub for commercial human spaceflights and cross-industry innovation.
Located in Kiruna, Europe’s premier space city since 1957, Spaceport Sweden offers unique world class experiences through the northern lights and under the midnight sun, supplying launch infrastructure, R&D facilities and high-tech expertise to commercial space operators.
Having extensive experience from the tourism industry, Karin has held senior international management roles spanning from nation branding to strategic business alliances, destination and business development.
Karin is Chairman of the Kiruna Lapland Tourist Boards and member of the Advisory Committee for the Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation.
Commended for her pioneering management research, Karin is a distinguished graduate of Henley Business School in the UK where she earned her Executive MBA.
Karin is also the initiator of “Creative Space”, an international pilot project with the vision to establish Spaceport Sweden as a creative hotspot above the Arctic Circle. Minds and industries will meet to share ideas and create innovative products and services providing world-class excitement, entertainment and education building on space as the platform.
